A Membership for Young Musicians to Excel, Build Community, and Discover Your Own Musical Voice
After nearly forty years of teaching and coaching musicians, I have learned that the greatest growth happens when students have more than lessons. They need opportunities to perform, collaborate, learn from inspiring artists, and contribute to their communities. The first step is a complimentary 20-minute consultation. We will discuss your musical background, goals, and whether the studio is the right fit for your journey.

Student Recital and Collaboration Opportunities
The studio provides supportive opportunities to develop confidence and celebrate your progress, including:
Annual Studio Recital
Members will have the opportunity to perform in a welcoming environment designed to encourage growth and musical expression.
Chamber Music Opportunities
As the studio grows, members will have opportunities to connect with other musicians and explore ensemble playing.
Community Service
Studio members will receive priority consideration for volunteer opportunities at the Music for Everyone Summer Camp & After School Program, which are under my direction.
Older students develop leadership skills and have fun while mentoring younger musicians.
These experiences may also help students fulfill community service requirements and demonstrate sustained community involvement on their college applications.
Studio Membership
To simplify scheduling and payments, studio membership is organized through a monthly subscription. Payments and scheduling are handled on the same online platform.

Policies for Jamanis Violin, Viola & Chamber Music Studio
It is my privilege to work with passionate and talented musicians and their families. These policies are in place to ensure clear communication and to support students in getting the most out of their musical education.
MY RESPONSIBILITIES
I will teach members the language of music in a positive and enthusiastic environment. My goal is to empower each student to influence their music education with input based on their interest and long-term goals. I will tailor the curriculum to match each student's specific learning needs.
MEMBER & FAMILY RESPONSIBILITIES
Members agree to arrive at each lesson punctually, well-prepared, and with their assignment books, music, and instrument. To make good progress, daily quality practice is necessary. Please ask questions about home assignments so the student and parents can completely understand the assignments and goals.
Parents: If something is happening at home or school that is affecting your child please let me know. The more information I have, the more I can be sensitive to the needs of your child.
MUSIC & MATERIALS
Students must have an instrument at home for practice. Guidance in instrument selection is included in tuition. Each student is responsible for purchasing the required music and materials for lessons. Students will be expected to have the newly assigned materials within 2 weeks.
TUITION AND SCHEDULE
Tuition is a flat monthly fee charged on the 1st of each month to the method on file with MakeMusic Studio. All payments are non-refundable.
The studio is open for 36 weeks each calendar year. The weeks where the studio is closed (due to holidays, touring and performance, special enrichment opportunities or illness) will be communicated in advance. *Enrollment cannot be guaranteed for the fall term without summer enrollment.
Tuition includes student recital and master classes; enrichment opportunities, and online curriculum.
LATE PAYMENTS
If a payment is returned or declined a 48-hour window will be provided to adjust the payment method and resubmit payment. Invoices paid after the 3rd of the month will receive a $20 late fee. Recurring late payments may result in the termination of the student’s enrollment.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you need to cancel, please provide notice in writing at least 24 hours prior to the lesson. When notice of a missed lesson is provided 24 hours prior, the studio may provide up to 2 make-up lessons each term (September-December; January-May; June-August), subject to availability. Make-up lessons must be used within 30 days.
Tuition is based on the number of lessons the studio schedules and will not be altered. Planned vacations or other conflicts communicated in advance receive a make-up lesson credit for that month.
LESSON TERMINATION POLICY
To end lesson enrollment for the next month, written notification must be received via email by the 15th of the current month. If notice is not received by the deadline, the full tuition amount will be automatically charged on the first of the month, and students will have the option to attend all paid lessons that month. Lessons will then be canceled for the following month. Tuition payments are non-refundable.
VIRTUAL LESSONS
In the case of mild teacher illness, severe weather, or other conflicts, lessons may be held online virtually. When virtual lessons are offered, in-person make-up lessons will not be offered. If the student opts out of the virtual lesson, that lesson and tuition will be forfeited.
By enrolling and paying tuition to the Jamanis Violin & Chamber Music Studio, I certify that I understand and agree to the studio policies.
From time to time I use photos and short videos of my students around the studio, on the studio website, or in social media posts. These videos and posts are encouraging to other students and helpful to other teachers. If you do not want your child's image(s) to be used, please let me know. The students are identified only by first name.
